What is the Dreamers' Parent Teacher Council?
We are parents and teachers who add sparkle to the day for children, teachers, and staff at Dreamers Academy!
Each year our crew of parent volunteers works hard to meet the needs of Dreamers’ students and faculty. In 2023-2024 the PTC was able to donate over $40,000 to Dreamers Academy through classroom grants, the playground installation, the new marquee, teacher appreciation, and family support.
In 2024-2025, the PTC is dedicated to:
- providing teachers with the materials needed daily and also for special activities that enhance learning
- supporting the Science Lab
- making it easy for every parent to volunteer by covering the costs associated with required fingerprinting
- creating volunteer opportunities during the school day to support teachers
- continuing to build a Dreamers community that supports, learns, and plays together!
How Do We Do This?
In four committees — Events/Family Engagement, Classroom Support, Fundraising, and Communication.
There is no such thing as a “wrong” idea. We celebrate diversity of thought and encourage you to join us. Your unique perspective is your superpower, and your availability should not prevent you from being part of the Dreamers Community.
We need volunteers on an event-by-event basis all the way through committee chairs and leadership positions. Learn more here.

To volunteer with students, you must become a Sarasota County School volunteer.
- A Level 1 volunteer is always within the sightline of a teacher or staff member.
- A Level 2 volunteer is able to supervise children without a teacher or staff member and chaperone on field trips. This level requires fingerprinting.
Please contact us if you need assistance covering the cost of fingerprinting. Regardless of participation in the PTC, we encourage all parents to get Level 2 status so they can join their children during fun events!
